Recently, I received an inquiry through my website asking if I did pet portraits. The family had recently lost their beloved pet and the husband wanted to give his wife a special remembrance of their boxer, Oliver, for her 40th birthday. As an animal lover, I know how special family pets can be. But knowing that special relationship, I was apprehensive to take this project on as I had never done a pet portrait and was concerned that I may not be able to adequately capture the “essence” of the animal in glass. However, the fool that I am for challenges, and the cuteness overload of Oliver’s photo, convinced me to respond with an “of course I’ll give it a try!” There were indeed challenges, but I’m very happy with the results and the clients were as well..
